With a lovely swimming pool, Spa and Sauna, Moulin de Garreau is an exceptional and unique property set in a peaceful, rural location in the Vendee, yet within easy reach of all amenities. This outstanding property comprises of a large 5 bedroom ( all ensuite) house and 11th Century fully renovated operational watermill.  The watermill is fenced off for security.

Within its very large grounds are 2 carp fishing lakes and large area for walks, cycling etc.

The house has been lovingly renovated to an extremely high standard throughout with all bedrooms offering ensuite facilities.

Full sized swimming pool which is heated by use of the cover plus a hot tub/spa and a sauna.

GUESTS HAVE EXCLUSIVE USE OF ALL FACILITIES ON SITE.

 

 

ACCOMMODATION

The house comprises of fully equipped kitchen, with breakfast bar, oven, hob, microwave, full sized American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker etc etc. Door leading to patio area.The separate utility room has a washing machine and tumble drier, sink etc.The lounge are has the original beamed ceilings, and two large original fireplaces. There are large comfortable armchairs and settee, also large dining table and chairs. TV with Satellite English channels. Doors leading to patio area. WIFI

Downstairs WC and washbasin.

 

The bedrooms ( located upstairs) all have ensuite facilities:

Green room : 1Kingsize bed for 2 people (Wide = 1.6 meter) with ensuite bath, shower and WC

Yellow room : 2 single beds + 1 cot with ensuite shower room and WC

Orange room : 1 double bed (Wide = 1.4 meter) + 1 single bed with ensuite shower room and WC

Blue room : 1 Kingsize bed for 2 people (Wide = 1.6 meter) with ensuite bathroom and WC

Red room : : 1 double bed (Wide = 1.4 meter) + 1 single bed with ensuite bathroom and WC

PLUS we have 2 free single child beds that we can install upon request.

 

The property is fully centrally heated and available all year.

 

An excellent standard throughout.

 

This property is completely private and you will have exclusive use of all facilities.

 

OUTSIDE LEISURE 

Outside are very extensive grounds with lovely swimming pool, hot tub and sauna (all fenced off for security). The swimming pool has a large cover (looks a bit like a greenhouse) which slides over the pool and with the help of the sun heats the pool, just gently slide back the cover when you wish to use the pool.

Large patio area and separate bar b q area, plus large garden area and two large carp (and various other fish including perch, tench, eels, ) fishing lakes. Fishing tackle room is also available.

Table Tennis.

There is also a separate decking area overlooking the lake and grounds to sit and enjoy the wonderful views and several glasses of wine whilst watching the sun setting.

Bicycles and fishing rods available.   All very private and exclusive. Fantastic grounds for walking, cycling etc.

Prices are per week. SATURDAY CHANGEOVER DAY, flexible outside of main season.

Between 01 October and 09 May the property may be let as a 3 bedroomed property for the following prices:

There is a £500 security deposit which is fully refundable if no damage to property or breakages.Price includes hire of bed linen and towels.

The SPA/hot Tub is available for £100 per week.

We ask that the property is left in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental. If you require the property to be cleaned at the end of your rental this can be done for £100

I have to say we have had a fabulous holiday, the house was just as fabulous as we remembered and the welcome was even more friendly and welcoming. anyone visiting the property's holiday is given just the right start by the wonderful welcome.  As we left I forgot to say to Yvonnick that we followed their advice and we made fruit tarts with the plums from the trees and they were superb!   
We thought our last holiday at Moulin de Garreau couldn't be improved but this time the weather was excellent for the whole fortnight and that changed the atmosphere for the whole holiday.  My sons, husband, friend and his son enjoyed the fishing and came much better prepared and my youngest son (Liam aged 10) on the last day caught 103 fish (which he is very proud of).
I will be in touch again as we will be returning, if not in 2010 we'll hopefully revisit in 2011.

I just wanted to say that my family and I had a wonderful holiday at Moulin de Garreau! We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the facilities. We met Yvonnick and his wife on the day we arrived and the day we departed. The facilities were excellent. Enough bathrooms, toilets and a well appointed kitchen. The lake, the pool, hot tub and the table tennis were enjoyed by the whole family, as well as the bbq.

 

 

 

 

LOCATION

The lovely property is located in the village of St Martin Des Fontaines, L'Hermenault village is just 2km away and has a small supermarket, boulangerie, pharmacy, 2 banks (24 hour cashpoints), post office, tabac, English speaking doctor and dentist etc.St Martin des Fontaines has a bar/restaurant with a good choice of meals and a takeaway pizza - only 10 minutes walk away.

The nearest town is Fontenay le Comte and is approx 15 minutes drive away offering a variety of hypermarkets, restaurants and cafes etc. A lovely renaissance town which must be seen.

The property has an excellent location, with the beautiful city of La Rochelle and the exclusive island of Ile de Re being only 45 minute drive away.

Beaches also approx 40 minute drive.

There is plenty to do in the area whether your interests are water sports, walking, cycling, horse riding, visiting museums, tourist attractions, wine tasting the list goes on and on. Whatever your age and interests the Vendee has something to offer everybody.
